Bruce M. Emmons, 93, of Bristol

BRISTOL — Bruce M. Emmons, 93, passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born on June 24, 1926, in Bristol, the son of Bernard and Agnes (Edwards) Emmons.
Bruce is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife Glenna (Ober) Emmons; his son William Emmons and wife Debbie of Gray, Maine; stepdaughters Tisa Gurnee and husband Douglas of Middlebury, Tanya Combs of Essex Jct., and Tena Fraser of Vergennes; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In his younger years Bruce was an avid hunter and loved to fish. He loved playing cribbage with George Smith and his friends.
Bruce was a member of the American Legion Post 19 and a lifetime member of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Bruce was proud to have served his country and served in three wars; WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment will be at Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Bruce Emmons to the American Legion, Bristol Post 19, PO Box 292, Bristol VT 05443.
