MUHS alumni association needs members

MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury High School/ Middlebury Union High School Alumni Association is holding its annual meeting on Saturday Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. at the MUHS cafeteria. There will be a business meeting of the Association as well as presentation of this year’s Hall of Fame winners with their plaques and formally inducting them into the Hall of Fame.
All Hall of Famers are invited to welcome the new members and take a picture at the trophy case.
The association has been in existence since 1989 when the articles of association were submitted, according to alumnus Bill Cunningham.  The association existed prior to the adoption of association with events at the Creek Road Legion and the Airport where alumni celebrated with classmates and continued friendships that were built at MHS and MUHS.
Alumni events after 1989 were organized by Buster Brush and Catherine Fitzpatrick.  Since then many dedicated alumni have served   the greater good of all alumni to further both scholarship and reunion of classmates and friendship.
The Association provides $10,000 in scholarships each year to graduating MUHS seniors whose parents were alumni of MHS/MUHS.
“The association needs new members to continue the mission of scholarship and continued gatherings for friendship,” Cunningham noted in a press release. “Please consider coming to the annual meeting this Saturday, Nov. 2 to hear more about the Alumni Association.”
