Eagles, VUHS keep rolling in girls’ soccer

ADDISON COUNTY — In local high school soccer games, all played this past Friday, Mount Abraham and Vergennes picked up wins, Otter Valley earned a tie, and MUHS lost a close contest.
EAGLES
The Eagles rolled over visiting Spaulding, 5-0. Juliette Snell scored twice; Lucy Guy, Grace Harvey and Jessica Colbeth added a goal apiece; Mae Peterson contributed two assists; and goalie Justice Green made three saves as the Eagles improved to 4-1. Lilly LaCroix stopped 10 shots in the Tide goal. The Eagles will host Rice on Wednesday and visit VUHS on Saturday.
COMMODORES
The visiting Commodores defeated defending Division II champion Milton, 2-1, when Sydney Weber scored with 1:14 to go in the second overtime. Maria Malaney set up Weber’s goal. Milton got on the board in the first minute on a Vergennes own goal. Hannah Kelly tied the game with about 10 minutes to play on an assist from Sophie Hatch.
VUHS outshot Milton, 10-6, and VUHS goalie Kate Gosliga made four saves as the Commodores improved to 4-1-1. They visit Rice on Wednesday.
OTTERS
The Otters settled for a 4-4 tie with visiting Mill River when MRU converted a penalty kick late in regulation to knot the score. OV (1-3-1) had rallied from a 3-1 deficit as Olivia White scored twice and set up goals by Julia Eastman and Elena Politano. Ella Brytkowski assisted one of White’s strikes.
The Otters visit Fair Haven on Monday.
TIGERS
Visiting Rice edged the Tigers, 3-2, on Alex Dostie’s tiebreaking second-half goal, her second of the game. Dostie also helped force a Tiger own goal. Ivy Doran scored for MUHS, with an assist from Hannah Turner, and also set up Merry Kimble’s tying goal.
Rice goalie Emily McDonald made four saves, and goalie Carly Burger made 11 saves for the 2-3 Tigers, who will host Rutland on Monday.
