Bristol Police Log for Sept. 5

BRISTOL — Between Aug. 12 and 25 Bristol police completed 25 foot patrols and more than 10 hours of car patrols in various parts of town, some of which were part of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program. Officers checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School 11 times, conducted seven business checks, processed at least eight requests for fingerprints and verified one vehicle identification number.
The department also assisted Vermont State Police once, Bristol Rescue once and Middlebury Emergency EMS once.
In other recent activity, Bristol police:
• On Aug. 12 investigated a complaint about vandalism to a local building.
• On Aug. 13 ordered the towing of a vehicle after determining during a traffic stop that its registration plates belonged to a different vehicle.
• On Aug. 14 responded to a complaint about a juvenile and upon arrival found the situation was resolved.
• On Aug. 15 investigated a minor two-car crash.
• On Aug. 15 returned a dog that had been running at large to its owner.
• On Aug. 16 conducted a security check of Bristol Elementary School.
• On Aug. 17 facilitated the return of lost cellphone.
• On Aug. 18 responded to a motor vehicle complaint but the vehicle was gone upon arrival.
• On Aug. 19 educated a local resident about proper storage of immature marijuana plants.
• On Aug. 20 facilitated the return of a lost wallet.
• On Aug. 21 completed a welfare check and found that everything was fine.
• On Aug. 24 received a subpoena to be served upon a local person.
• On Aug. 24 monitored traffic for an event on Burpee Road.
• On Aug. 24 notified a local farmer of loose cows near the road on Route 116 South.
• On Aug. 25 responded to a two-vehicle crash with property damage on Prince Lane. A report is forthcoming.
