Letter to the editor: Malcolm touted for ACSD board

As town meeting day approaches, we voters have choices for positions on the Addison Central School District board. In these early days of school consolidation, it is extremely important to elect thoughtful, experienced and committed representatives to insure balanced decision-making.
Dr. James “Chip” Malcolm embodies these characteristics. He has served for 15 years on the MUHS school board, six as chair. His even-handed leadership served teachers, students and taxpayers well as he helped shape meaningful curriculum, fair pay and a reasonable tax burden. The result has been quality education for our youth.
Chip has represented Middlebury more recently as a member of the newly formed ACSD board, continuing his commitment to providing first class schools for our communities. As the ACSD board tackles the IB curriculum and facilities issues, Chip’s experience from his MUHS service will be invaluable.
Chip is seeking reelection and I urge you to support his candidacy on town meeting day to allow us to continue to benefit from his experience and balanced leadership.
