Letter to the editor: Malcolm experienced in dealing with school issues

Dr. James “Chip” Malcolm has shown that he has the ability and experience to continue on the Addison Central School District board.
As a long time teacher and football coach in the school district, I have observed first hand Dr. Malcolm’s leadership skills. For eighteen of my many professional years in the school district, Chip has been a member or chairman of the ACSU school board. Over this time, he has provided common sense guidance on the operation and direction of MUHS and MUMS.
It is because of this “track record” that Chip is a strong candidate to continue in this role.  He has been involved in and guided large school changes in the past. Among the largest were the major building projects of the new middle school and renovating the high school. As we undergo additional changes in the area of consolidation, declining enrollment, as well as installing a new curriculum, Chip’s continuity will be a welcome perspective to have on the school board. He has proven over the years that his calm, thoughtful, and reliable leadership, results in good decisions. In conclusion, Chip has the knowledge, skills and judgment to continue on the ACSD school board. Please cast your vote for Chip Malcolm on Town Meeting Day.
