Letter to the editor: Kafumbe, Malcolm, Torres endorsed for ACSD posts

We would like to thank all of the Addison Central School District board members who have dedicated countless hours and energy to supporting our schools, and delivering a high quality education to the children of our community through complex and challenging times for education. Our community is so much better for their service!
We are fortunate to be in a moment when more members of the community are stepping forward to serve, and that we have such an excellent slate of candidates to choose from this year on Town Meeting Day.
We write to express our support for Betty Kafumbe, Chip Malcolm and Ryan Torres for seats on the board of the Addison Central School District on Town Meeting Day. We believe that they represent an essential combination of experience, energy, perspective and ideas necessary for the vibrant, active leadership team our district needs as it continues to evolve.
The new perspectives and ideas that Ryan and Betty bring will benefit immeasurably from working in concert with Chip’s long-standing record of hard work, dedication and creativity. Leading our district forward will be a complex task, complicated by the changing policy landscape we are seeing from both our state and federal governments. While navigating this change, we will also need to be continuously innovating in both our organizational management and our educational curriculum.
Without diminishing our deep respect and gratitude toward all, we believe that Betty, Chip, and Ryan are the right candidates for this moment. We thank them for their willingness to serve, and hope that you will join us in our support for them on Town Meeting Day.
Kerri and Jason Duquette-Hoffman
