Coaches honor field hockey stars
ADDISON COUNTY — A dozen members of the Mount Abraham, Middlebury and Otter Valley union high school field hockey teams were chosen to receive postseason honors from the Metro Conference or Marble Valley League coaches.
Mount Abraham senior defender and midfielder Emily Aldrich and junior goalie Chessley Jackman were both named Metro First-Team All-Stars, while OV sophomore forward Alia Edmunds and senior forward Chelsea Reed were both selected to the MVL First Team.
Two Tigers, senior midfielder Laura Whitley and senior defender Raven Payne, and two Eagles, junior forward Jalen Cook and senior midfield Olivia Young, were named as Metro Second Team.
Earning Metro Honorable Mention were MUHS junior defender Abigail LaRock, Eagle senior defender Robyn Arena, and Eagle senior midfielder/forward Abby Perlee. OV junior midfielder Sophie Markowski received Honorable Mention from the MVL.
In addition, Payne was chosen for the Vermont Twin-State team, and Aldrich was named as an alternate to the Twin-State team.
