Middlebury runners view at NCAA championship

ELSAH, Ill. — Middlebury College runner Abigail Nadler took seventh place in the NCAA Division III women’s cross country championship race on Saturday at Principia College in Elsah, Ill.
Nadler’s effort earned her All-American honors for the third straight year and helped the Panther women finish 11th in a 32-team field with 400 points. Johns Hopkins won with 96 points.
Ascension Aispuro claimed 32nd for the Panther men to also earn All-American honors as the Panther men (416) took 15th. North Central of Illinois (57) won the men’s event.
Nadler covered the 6-kilometer course in 21:00.9. The other Panther scorers and their overall placements were Rory Kelly in 88th (22:09.3), Katherine MacCary in 116th (22:20.7), Meg Wilson in 180th (22:47.9), and Read Allen in 185th (22:50.0).
Khia Kurtenbach of Chicago claimed the individual women’s title with a run of 20:39.2.
On the men’s side, Aispuro finished the 8K course in 24:54.26. The other Panther scorers were Matt D’Aquila in 90th (25:26.91), Theo Henderson in 147th (25:45.33), Harrison Knowlton in 156th (25:47.48) and Miles Meijer in 163rd (25:49.55).
Wisconsin Eau-Claire’s Darin Lau won the men’s individual crown in a time of 24:03.59.
