Annual soccer officials clinic scheduled
BARRE — The Vermont Soccer Officials Association will offer its annual officiating clinic on Aug. 26 at Spaulding High School in Barre from noon to 7 p.m.
According to the association, this clinic is intended for anyone interested in learning how to officiate soccer at the elementary, middle or high school level, or those who just want to improve their officiating skills.
The clinic will consist of classroom work, refereeing a varsity boys’ scrimmage, and taking an online officiating test within the days after the clinic. Rulebooks will be sent upon receipt of $75 clinic fee, including $25 for liability insurance, to study for the online test and clinic. Attendees should bring clothes suitable for officiating.
Presenting the clinic will be Frank Martel, a certified high school official for 46 years, a high school referee assigner for 30 years, and an NCAA soccer official for 28 years.
