Local boys’ basketball players and coach garner league recognition
ADDISON COUNTY — Nine members of local high school boys’ basketball teams earned postseason recognition, as did one local coach.
Middlebury senior Trey Kaufman and Vergennes senior Adam Gill were each named Lake Division First-Team All-Stars, while Otter Valley senior Derek Aines was selected as a Marble Valley League B Division First Team All-Star. All three also were chosen for the Senior Classic All-Star Game in Windsor this past weekend.
Mount Abraham second-year Coach Martin Clark, whose team won five games after the program endured two winless seasons, was voted the Lake Division Coach of the Year.
Named a Lake Division Second-Team All Stars was Jackson Counter of Mount Abraham.
Recognized as MVL B Division Second-Team All-Stars were junior Josh Letourneau and sophomore Dylan Mackie. Mackie was also named to the Division I and II Dream Team of outstanding underclassmen.
Earning Lake Division Honorable Mention were VUHS senior Dylan Bradford, Mount Abe senior Chris Wood and MUHS junior Cody Pomainville.
