Standing Rock benefit to be held in Burnham Hall

LINCOLN — Burnham Hall Lincoln in Lincoln this Saturday evening will be the site of a benefit concert for those blocking the Dakota Access Pipeline from threatening the water supply in Standing Rock, N.D.
This will be an opportunity for high-energy dancing with local band Gumbo Ya-Ya as participants send their positive love vibes to North Dakota, where our brothers and sisters have been fighting for the rights of indigenous people and protecting public water from threats posed by running the Dakota Access Pipeline under an important reservoir and the Missouri River.
Those who attend Saturday’s concert and dance party — which runs from 7:30-10:30 p.m. — will create a community banner to send to Standing Rock as an offering of solidarity, unity and love. Share and hear stories from the front lines. Learn what you can do here at home to support local organizations that are working to protect human rights and the environment for all people.
There will be a $10 minimum donation for the Burnham Hall event; it will be free for children.
