Note of Appreciation: Plays were a success thanks to the community
Thank you, all!
What more can we say? In the words of “Mary Poppins:” “Anything can happen if you let it.” The support, enthusiasm and cooperative spirit of the Mount Abraham five-town-community-and-beyond audiences for the play were unprecedented. There were more folks in the seats over these four performances than in any other production run of the past twenty years’ worth of fall musicals.
Elementary school outreach was extended further than in previous years, and the volunteers assisting in this prep and presentation outnumbered earlier annual participants. Additionally, both the Five Town Friends of the Arts and the Tari Shattuck Educational Foundation have endorsed the fall musical as an arts and education event that they will now support financially in their annual budgets.
All of these aspects made for a successful, entertaining fall season. It couldn’t have been done without any of these contributions. The cast, crew and production team truly appreciate the school and community acceptance of this tradition. From Principal Barewicz on through teachers, administrative staff and custodians, it all worked together for good — “practically perfect” in all the ways that count.
Individuals interested in aiding the Friends of Mount Abraham Fall Musicals in their continuing commitment to upgrade lighting instruments and systems in the auditorium, and to provide annual scholarships for two graduating seniors may contribute at: FMAFM; Andrea Gordon; 44 West Pleasant Street, Bristol, VT 05443. You may also speak with any member of the musical production team.
