American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion send three Mt. Abe students to Girls’ State

RANDOLPH — Delaynah Leavitt, Sophia Wolak and Celia Heath from Mount Abraham Union High School headed to Green Mountain Girls’ State in Randolph on June 18. These young ladies attended a nonprofit leadership conference that focused on the political structure in the State of Vermont, remembrance of Veterans and active patriotism. This event is sponsored the Vermont Department of the American Legion Auxiliary.
This year Bristol American Legion Auxiliary Unit 19 was fortunate enough to be able to send three female students from the junior class. Our unit usually is able to send two, however we all felt that we had three very strong candidates representing our community so we approached the SAL Unit 19 of Bristol and they generously offered to sponsor the third young lady.
We are so excited and wish them the best of luck in a wonderful opportunity. We look forward to hearing from them when they return.
