Career Center scholarship deadline is May 6

MIDDLEBURY — The Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center Guidance Department is now accepting scholarship applications from graduating PAHCC seniors who have a demonstrated commitment to career and community and who plan to pursue further education after graduating. This scholarship provides $1,000 per year for up to four years of higher education.
The scholarship is made possible by the Addison County Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors an annual golf tournament to support higher education for youth who attend any of the county’s public or private high schools, choose to enroll in a program at the Hannaford Career Center, and plan on attending a college, university or other post-secondary training program.
Last year’s scholarship recipient is Siobhan Haggett who graduated from Vergennes Union High School where she was a member of both the National Technical Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society. She is currently attending Maine College of Art, majoring in art and enjoying all of the opportunities that are available to her.
“The HCC Golf Scholarship has really helped me to make all of this possible. I am extremely thankful,” said Haggett.
This year’s golf tournament will take place at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course on June 24, and interested individuals or teams can learn how to participate by calling Sue Hoxie at the Addison County Chamber at 388-7951. The deadline for applying for this year’s scholarship is Friday, May 6, and applications are available from Guidance Coordinator Brenda Logee.
