Middlebury College runs, jumps and throws to home wins

MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury College women and men’s track and field teams both won their only home meets of the season on Saturday, when they outpointed five visiting teams.
The Panther women scored 226 points behind school-record performances by Carly Anderson in the javelin and Alexandra Morris in the 400-meter dash to outdistance second-place Southern Maine (177), while the men racked up 288 to edge Bowdoin’s total of 277. In addition to Southern Maine and Bowdoin, the Panthers welcomed Castleton, Green Mountain and Sage.
On the women’s side, the Panthers picked up victories in seven events. Morris won the 400 in 57.23, lowering the mark of 57.51 set in 2013 by Juliet Ryan-Davis.
