Otter baseball drops opener
MANCHESTER — In the opener for both teams, host Burr & Burton snapped a 3-3 tie in the late going and took a 7-3 victory on Friday over the Otter Valley Union High School baseball team.
Derek Aines took the complete-game pitching loss for the Otters, while Griff Stalcup pitched three hitless relief innings for the Bulldogs and earned the victory.
That game had originally been scheduled for Brandon, but was moved to Burr & Burton because of field conditions at OV. Monday’s home game at OV vs. Mill River has also been changed and will be played at MRU for the same reason. The Otters are also scheduled to travel to Brattleboro on Tuesday.
