Mission team needs donations to fill suitcases with hygiene supplies
SHOREHAM — The Shoreham Congregational Church has accepted the challenge of filling a suitcase with basic hygiene supplies for a medical mission, and church members are asking the public to help.
Jade Blodgett, RN, of Shoreham will join other nurses and medical professionals in March 2016 on a medical mission to travel to Honduras to provide free medical care. Honduras is in desperate need of medical attention; the community the volunteers will visit hasn’t seen any care in over a year.
The mission group needs to collect several kinds of hygiene supplies, eyeglasses and medications. The most needed items include travel sizes of bar soap, shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste (children’s and adult); toothbrushes (children’s and adult); lip balm; lotion; dental floss; combs; sunscreen (any SPF); old sunglasses and eyeglasses; multivitamins (children’s and adult), aspirin (81 mg); and Tums.
