Opinion: Addison-1 candidate says letter was inaccurate

In recent issues my age, or lack thereof, has been a subject of much controversy. The diversity of opinion has made for great debate and banter.
However, I was bothered when a recent letter-to-the-editor diverged from opinion and instead made a few inaccurate claims regarding my candidacy. In one instance Judy Olinick wrote on Oct. 30, “Calvin launched his campaign by urging citizens to examine incumbent’s records carefully rather than re-elect them out of habit.” This wasn’t my reason for running and wasn’t stated in any of my literature or conversations. As I’ve said since the beginning, I’m running for the Vermont House because I believe I have unique perspective and creative ideas to tackle some of the issues facing our state. In no way did I challenge the records of our legislators, who have served us well.
One of the best parts about Vermont politics is that the political discussion usually stays positive and grounded in fact, let’s make sure Middlebury upholds this!
