Police: Man dead after fatal motorcycle crash

On June 10th, 2012 at approximately 2225 hours Vermont State Police received a report of a motorcycle crash on North Street in the town of New Haven, south of the intersection with Plank Road.
 
Rescue and Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and located Bruce Sturtevant, 44, of New Haven, on the west side of North Street under the guard rail. Bristol rescue transported Sturtevant to Porter Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
 
Investigation revealed that Sturtevant was traveling northbound on North street in the town of New Haven and failed to negotiate a corner. Sturtevant’s 2011
Harley Davidson went down on its side and slid into the guardrail, throwing Sturtevant from the bike.
 
Alcohol is suspected as a contributing circumstance in this crash as well as the operator’s failure to wear a helmet.
 
An autopsy is pending with the medical examiner’s office.
