LINCOLN — Though the Muses will have plenty of chances over the coming year to descend upon the Lincoln Community School, the art that is now emerging there will require more than inspiration; it will require hundreds of hours of sweat and labor.

That and about 30,000 pieces of tile, glass and stone.

LINCOLN — Those Bristol-Lincoln area residents, and visitors, seeking relief from the recent heat wave should be aware that Vermont State Police on Sunday ordered the towing of a number of cars parked on the Lincoln Road near Bartlett Falls on the New Haven River.

According to a VSP press release, the cars “posed a significant hazard since they blocked the flow of traffic.”

VSP stated the cars towed were those that remained after they had issued warnings to citizens at the popular swimming spot. The cars were towed at about 2 p.m.

LINCOLN — School may be out for the summer, but the need for collecting Box Tops continues. Box Tops are little coupons that are on hundreds of household products that you use everyday. You can drop them off this summer at the Lincoln Library. There is a canister on the table in the foyer to put them in. Each Box Top is worth ten cents and goes toward purchasing books for the LCS library. Tell your friends, family and neighbors about collecting Box Tops for the school. Box Tops do expire, so check your cupboards today. Thank you so much for your support and participation.

LINCOLN — It took excavators only a few hours to dismantle the old Lincoln Community School (LCS) playground last week. The park designed to replace it will require the entire summer to complete.

After a yearlong delay, Potato Hill Park is finally getting built.

A $260,000 project made possible by a $100,000 grant from the Vermont Land and Water Commission Fund, plus matching funds raised by Friends of LCS, Potato Hill Park is designed to be much more than a school playground.
