As always, winter is a busy time for Middlebury Union High School athletics, with eight offerings to keep students occupied doing healthy and hopefully fun things through the long cold months.
Mount Abraham Union High School sports teams enter the winter with a few changes: Two programs have new coaches, one after winning a state championship, and there is a new varsity team, indoor track, which moves up from club status.
Will this winter reverse the oh-so-close trend of tough playoff losses on the road, overtime setbacks and unlucky injuries?
The short 2021 winter season brought mostly good news to the Middlebury Union High School programs.

The winter of 2020-2021 was not the kindest to Mount Abraham sports teams. The COVID pandemic forced the school’s basketball programs, like those elsewhere, to play abbreviated seasons, and neither managed winning records.
The COVD-shortened winter of the 2020-21 high school sports season is behind us, and the teams at Otter Valley are happy about that.
