Fifth-seeded Bates on Saturday ended the top-seeded Middlebury College field hockey team’s streak of six straight NESCAC playoff championships with a 2-1 upset victory.
After the Middlebury College team breezed through the NESCAC tournament, the dedicated crew defeated Johns Hopkins in the NCAA final, 2-0.
The top-ranked Panther field hockey team defeated host No. 5 Messiah, 3-0, on Sunday advancing to this weekend’s final four in Virginia.
It took extra time, but there was no factor — weather, field or opponent — that was going to stop the Middlebury College team.
