Protect the trails during spring

The Green Mountain Club encourages trail users to avoid muddy trails, follow any seasonal trail or road closures, and help protect the treadway and vegetation during this sensitive season.

The Green Mountain Club reminds hikers that mud season is here, so all trail users should stay off the wet and muddy high-elevation trails until they dry out, around the end of May.

After a long work week I longed to be outside, so I packed up my dogs in my car on Saturday and headed up to one of my favorite places: Goshen.

Middlebury Highway Department has closed Creek Road — from 3-Mile Bridge Road to the Vermont Agency of Transportation garage — until further notice.
