Theatrical event digests weight loss struggles

After battling food, weight, and self-esteem issues for years, Trish Dougherty, a poet, mother, and graduate student at the Bread Loaf School of English in Middlebury, decided to employ her strengths of self-perception, humor, and the written word to wrestle her demons to the ground.

‏Did you miss “Yoga With Jillian” when it played at Town Hall Theater in Middlebury back in September? Well, it’s coming to Burlington for another performance on Friday, Jan. 20 and Saturday, Jan. 21.

“It’s a play about what happens when you can’t do the thing that brings you joy — when life comes in and knocks you on your ass.”
