The 29th annual Eagle Basketball Camp will be held in Bristol from June 27 to 30 for grades 2 through high school.
Host Spaulding defeated the Mount Abraham-Vergennes boys’ lacrosse team on Saturday, 9-3. The Tide improved to 3-1 with their third straight win, while the Eagles dropped to 1-1.
The Mount Abraham-Vergennes cooperative boys’ lacrosse team spotted Otter Valley an early lead on Tuesday in Bristol and also had to hold off a late Otter rally, but the Eagles ultimately prevailed, 11-8.
The Mount Abraham softball team jumped to a quick 11-1 lead over visiting Spaulding on Tuesday and cruised to a 15-6 victory in the Eagles’ opener.

Host No. 2 Montpelier ended the No. 7 Mount Abraham boys’ basketball team’s strong season in a Friday Division II quarterfinal, 64-35.
Before the No. 6 Mount Abraham girls’ basketball team won the Division II title on Saturday the Eagles had to survive a rally by No. 2 Enosburg in Wednesday’s semifinal at the Barre Auditorium to win, 52-48.

It had been since 2008 that the Mount Abraham boys’ basketball program hosted a Division II playoff game, and since 2009 that an Eagle boys’ team had won in the postseason — that year the No. 12 Eagles defeated No. 5 Middlebury.
While all four local high school girls’ basketball teams won their first-round playoff games, only Mount Abraham advanced to a quarterfinal matchup.
The Commodores look the lead four minutes into the game, held the Eagles to 10 first-half points, and knocked off their rivals, 43-32, on the night they honored seniors Felicia Poirier, Ryley Dubois and Geneva Verburg at their final home game.
Make it five straight. The Mount Abraham boys’ basketball team pulled away from visiting Middlebury in Tuesday’s second half to win big, 66-39, and improve to 7-4.
