Opinion: Heffernan’s wife supports Hill for House

Vermonters are being taxed to extinction. We need changes in Montpelier. Our Legislature has a strong left-leaning majority that is passing bills into law costing millions over and above the basic needs of our citizens.

Republicans Chanin Hill of Bristol and Renee McGuiness of Monkton will carry their party’s banner in the race for the two House seats representing Bristol, Lincoln, Monkton and Starksboro.

Affordability is a big concern for all. From housing cost, taxes of all kinds, fees and inflation it is becoming too costly or the average citizen and small business owner to live and thrive here in Vermont.

Chanin Hill — one of the driving forces behind Bristol’s Four Hills Farm — wants to be one two people voters in the Addison-4 pick on Nov. 5 to serve their interests in Montpelier.

As this year’s legislative sessions wrap up, I’m left to ponder how our local elected officials could say they were acting in Vermonters best interest.

Town Meeting Day voting in Bristol will feature a two-way race to fill an open seat on town’s selectboard, as incumbent and current selectboard vice chair Darla Senecal will not run to keep her two-year seat after March 5.
