Letter to the editor: Changes needed in school taxes

Thirty years ago, I had my moment of fame when I took my sheep to town hall to pay for my tax bill, protesting the way we fund our schools.

None of us get to choose our colors when we are born. Specifically: hair, eye and skin.

I grew up in the early 1950s. Back then everybody got to see the effects of polio on people of all ages.

Twenty-five years ago I had my moment of “fame” when I took my sheep to town hall as payment for my property taxes and as a protest of the constantly increasing bill. Then and now the major portion is the school tax. As I reread the newspaper articles fro … (read more)
