Addison town hall fix could move forward

The Addison selectboard appeared to be ready on Wednesday, July 5, to take a key step to advance the voter-approved plan to renovate the town’s former town hall into a town office building and community center.

My questions regarding the will of the people, as demonstrated in last November’s Town Hall bond vote, have been rebuffed at two successive board meetings with robust arguments regarding the legal restriction of the vote.

On Nov. 8, 2022, a majority of residents of the Town of Addison voted to approve a bond to finally renovate the Historic Town Hall.

All those who voted last November on the bond for the Addison Town Hall renovation might be wondering what’s happening. Here’s an attempt at an update.

Addison residents on Tuesday approved a bond for up to $2.07 million to renovate the town’s historic former town hall on Route 22A into a new town office building and community center.

On Saturday, Oct. 15, I attended the open house held by the Addison Town Hall Committee at the old Addison Town Hall at Addison Four Corners.

Folks in Addison will be asked if they want to bring the 150-year-old town hall back to life.
