County businesses earn state support

Gov. Phil Scott and Jennifer M.V. Fitch, commissioner of the Vermont Department of Buildings and General Services, recently notified the Addison County Economic Development Corporation that it was awarded $59,322 for seven Addison County businesses through the Building Communities Grant Program for projects in Bristol, Goshen, Middlebury, Ripton and Vergennes.

Karen Duguay has helmed the BMP for more than 10 years. The Partnership is the entity responsible for building community, assisting downtown businesses, organizing events, and marketing Middlebury.

At the Annual Meeting of the Addison County Economic Development Corporation on Nov. 12, the membership approved four new members to the Board of Directors.
