CURRENT VERMONT GOV. Phil Scott and former Gov. James Douglas of Middlebury both
attended a Republican rally held at the Middlebury American Legion Post 27 on Sept. 26. Scott,
who hadn’t been in town for a while, came to help the Addison County GOP rally its base for
the upcoming Nov. 5 General Election. For the first time in decades — perhaps ever — there are
currently no Republicans among Addison County’s Vermont General Assembly delegation.
