Middlebury Community Music Center this past Friday staged “The Grunch,” a musical starring summer camp students at the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society in Middlebury. Under the direction of Jen Allred, more than a dozen youngsters learned their parts, rehearsed the show and then played their roles. Artist Matt Heywood is at it again. The Middlebury man who painted giant flowers on a building next to the Middlebury Amtrak stop and a huge frog on wall of a building in Middlebury’s Mill Street, this week installed a third beautiful mural bringing the natural world to downtown Middlebury. On Bakery Lane Heywood installed a huge painted panel depicting stalks of wheat waving in the breeze.
