Aug 1, 2024 | Photos of the Week

MEMBERS OF THE Rotary Club of Middlebury, aided by three members of the Vermont Old Cemetery Association from Burlington, on July 20 gathered debris cut by the town’s public works crew at the Washington Street Cemetery. Once the living vegetation is under control, work to upright and clean the stones will begin next year. Volunteer workers shown here are, left to right, Tom McNugh, Larry Jones, Alex Wolff, Rachel Sherman, Paul Horn, Gabriel Karsch, Ben Fuller and David Clark.
JUST LIKE IN a real emergency, a group of Addison County firefighters works together during the bucket brigade competition at Saturday’s Muster Games to accomplish a task. The games reinforce skills but also build camaraderie among firefighters from different departments. Independent photo/Caroline Jiao

CITY RESIDENT HUNTER Warner, 8, visits the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad on July 20 to donate two-dozen ice cream gift certificates to its members. They took him for a ride in one of the agency ambulances while he was there, which Hunter said was his favorite part of his visit. Photo courtesy of Holly Weber
