MIDDLEBURY — The New England Review and Middlebury College’s Special Collections and Archives present a reading from “Please Do Not Remove: A Collection Celebrating Vermont Literature and Libraries” at Middlebury College’s Davis Family Library Special Collections and Archives Room 101 on Tuesday, March 10, from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
MIDDLEBURY — Visiting No. 3 seed Trinity struck 54 seconds into overtime in Sunday’s NESCAC women’s hockey final to stun top-seeded Middlebury College, 3-2.
MIDDLEBURY — In Saturday’s NESCAC semifinal, the Middlebury College women’s hockey team outshot visiting Bowdoin over the first two periods, 21-10, and took 2-0 lead on the way to a 4-2 victory. Middlebury twice led by three goals in the third, but the fifth-seeded Polar Bears each time struck back quickly and carried play in the late going.
ESSEX — Three Middlebury Union High School senior hockey players will participate in the 31st annual Essex Rotary Key Bank All-Star Hockey Classic on March 21 at the Essex Skating Facility in Essex.

In the wake of Town Meeting Day, residents may think their exercise in democratic responsibility has been fulfilled. Not so. On the contrary, in almost every town there are important issues that require continued public conversation and engagement.
Certainly that’s the case with the communities whose school budgets were defeated.
The Addison County chiefs of police and the Addison County sheriff would like to recognize Middlebury Rep. Betty Nuovo for her comments in an article in the Feb. 19 edition of the Addison Independent. Rep. Nuovo voiced her opposition to House Bill 277 and Senate Bill 95, both which propose the legalization of marijuana for recreational usage.
