BRISTOL — Lawrence Memorial Library, now reopened to the public, has a number of summer programs and activities planned for the coming months. The programs, which are for kids and families, range from story hours to library camp.

Story times for all ages on are being offered every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Equipped with ukulele and drums, participants will gather with friends by the library garden for stories, songs, and activities. Weather depending, story time will be outdoors near the library garden or in the Children’s Room.

Lawrence’s summer reading program includes a raffle for all ages. Sign up is available at the library. Any time spent with books, listening to stories, or reading aloud to someone counts. The library has reading logs to help people keep track of how much they read. Participants can fill out a weekly raffle ticket for fun prizes. Drawings are held on Wednesdays until Aug. 7. Reading logs can also be submitted at lawrencelibraryvt.org under Summer Reading 2021 and will automatically be entered in the raffle.

Lawrence Memorial Library is this summer’s in-town meals site with free lunches on weekdays from 11:30 a.m-2 p.m. Families and youth 18 and under, are invited to pick up lunch or to picnic in the backyard. No reservations required. It’s a great time to choose a fun summer book, too. Go to lawrencelibraryvt.org/kids-events/eat-read for suggestions. Librarians Genevieve and Georgia will read aloud during lunch on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Lunch is provided, no RSVP is required, and all ages are welcome. Just drop in.

Finally, the library is offering a Tails and Tales Library Camp this summer. There will be two sessions: Aug 9-13 and Aug. 16-20. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is for children ages 7-11. Campers will explore creative arts, movement, music and laughter under the library tent. The camp is free, and the library recommends registering early as space is limited. Registration can be found at lawrencelibraryvt.org.
