Weybridge seed swap set for May 22
WEYBRIDGE — With folks spending more time in their yards and gardens over the past year, the Weybridge Energy Committee is offering an outdoor event for community residents to share seeds and plant starts and to learn about electric lawn and garden equipment.
Just in time for planting, the Weybridge Energy Committee is hosting a Community Seed Swap/Electric Equipment Demo on Saturday, May 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. on the lawn at the Weybridge Congregational Church, 2790 Weybridge Road.
Anyone can participate, whether or not they have seeds to contribute. First-time gardeners are encouraged to come, along with experienced gardeners. Any kind of seed, bulb, or plant start is welcome, even if they are last year’s seeds. Participants are asked to label any seeds not in commercial packaging.
In addition to the Seed Swap, committee members will showcase some examples of electric lawn and garden equipment, such as mowers, string trimmers, and chainsaws. If you’re interested in electric vehicles, there will be a few on hand to look at and learn about.
This event will follow current health and safety guidelines. Please wear a mask and bring your own bags for taking seeds away. For more information about this free event, please email Fran Putnam at [email protected].
The rain date is May 29 at the same time and place.
