MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Kimber I. Mills, 23, of Middlebury for domestic assault, following an alleged fight at a Route 7 South residence on Jan. 15. Police said the victim alleged that Mills had stabbed him “multiple times” with a pair of scissors.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•Received, from an honest person, an endorsed check found in the Merchants Row area on Jan. 9. Police called the person who had lost the check.
•Went to the scene of a vehicle-deer crash on Route 30 on Jan. 9.
•Were informed of the theft of an iPad from Middlebury College’s Ross dining hall on Jan. 10.
•Ticketed a student for being a minor in possession of tobacco on Middlebury Union High School grounds on Jan. 10.
•Received a report of the theft of a construction tool from the Eastview at Middlebury development off South Street on Jan. 10.
•Were informed of the theft of a toy tractor from Paris Farmers Union on Route 7 South on Jan. 10. A store employee reported seeing a female put the toy tractor into her purse and leave in a car.
•Investigated the reported theft of some battery cores from No. 1 Auto Parts Inc. on Wilson Road on Jan. 11.
•Assisted a North Forty Lane parent with an out-of-control daughter on Jan. 11.
•Received a complaint on Jan. 13 from MUHS administrators about a Facebook site titled, “Loose Review.” The site allegedly featured some sexual and defamatory information about students. Officials e-mailed a complaint to Facebook.
•Responded to a report of horses loose on Seminary Street Extension on Jan. 12.
•Cited William T. Gevertz, 19, of Armonk, N.Y., for driving under the influence following a stop for speeding on South Pleasant Street on Jan. 13. Police said they measured Gevertz’s blood-alcohol level at 0.133 percent; the legal limit for driving is 0.08 percent.
•Received, from another honest person, some credit cards and a driver’s license found at McDonald’s Restaurant on Route 7 South on Jan. 13. Police returned the property to the owner.
•Responded to a noise complaint at a Main Street apartment building on Jan. 14.
•Ticketed two youths for being a minors in possession of alcohol on Middlebury College campus on Jan. 14. Police said both youths were drunk and both were not Middlebury students.
•Assisted Middlebury Volunteer Ambulance Association officials on Jan. 14 with a drunken man who had fallen in the Court Street area and had cut his head. Police said when they arrived they found the man screaming in the basement of his home, banging his head against the floor and a table. Police placed the man in handcuffs and took him to Porter Hospital, where he had to be restrained to his bed.
•Ticketed a youth for using a fake identification card while trying to buy alcohol at Hannaford Supermarket on Jan. 14.
•Served a no-trespass notice on two people on Jan. 14.
•Cited a Shoreham man for driving with a suspended license on Seymour Street on Jan. 14.
•Investigated a report of a man trying to use a fake identification card to buy alcohol at Hannaford Supermarket on Jan. 14.
•Responded to a report of a driver damaging a “Yield” sign at the Main Street rotary and not stopping his vehicle afterwards on Jan. 14.
•Responded to a family dispute at a Peterson Terrace residence on Jan. 15.
•Investigated the reported theft of an iPhone from the jacket of a customer at Two Brothers Tavern on Jan. 15.
•Responded to a noise complaint at a John Graham Court residence on Jan. 15.
