Experts to discuss mosquito-borne disease on Wednesday evening

MIDDLEBURY — The Addison County Regional Planning Commission will host a panel discussion on the threat posed by mosquito-borne diseases on Wednesday, Sept. 12, as part of its September monthly meeting.
The panel is being organized to discuss the recent confirmation of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) in the county and the subsequent aerial spraying in limited areas. Recently another mosquito-related disease, West Nile Virus, has also been confirmed in Chittenden County.
These mosquito-borne diseases will be addressed by representatives of the Vermont Department of Health; Agency of Agriculture; the Brandon, Leicester, Salisbury and Goshen Insect Control District; and the Lemon Fair Insect Control District.
The meeting will be held starting at 7:30 p.m. at Room 216 of Middlebury College’s McCardell Bicentennial Hall.
Members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend.
