State police charge three with string of burglaries

MONKTON — Vermont State Police on Wednesday evening announced the arrests of three people in connection with a string of recent home and business burglaries spanning from Salisbury to Burlington.
Among those arrested was Chad Cook, 25, of Monkton, whom police cited for forced residential burglary, possession of stolen property and petit larceny. He was held on $25,000 bail at the Chittenden County Correctional Center.
Police said an ongoing investigation revealed that Cook and his alleged accomplices — Royal Palin, 25, and Mildred Martin, 29, both of Burlington — allegedly burglarized several residences and businesses, including locations on Hardscrabble Road in Monkton, Quaker Street in Lincoln and Main Street, Bristol.
State police said they expect to add other locations pending further probing of the case and the return of recovered property.
Vermont State Police thanked the Bristol, South Burlington and Burlington Police Departments for their help in solving the case.
