Middlebury Police Log: DUI, narcotics stops keep police busy

 
MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Samuel M. Francoeur, 19, of Leicester for driving under the influence and possession or narcotics, following a stop for a traffic violation on Weybridge Street on Nov. 20.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Responded to a report of some dogs running free on East Main Street on Nov. 19.
•  Responded to a loud family dispute at the Blue Spruce Motel on Route 7 South on Nov. 19.
•  Cited Lindsay M. Davignon, 19, of Leicester for driving under the influence on Nov. 20 following an investigation in the parking area of Freeman Way. Police on patrol allege they walked up to Davignon’s vehicle and could smell “intoxicants” emanating from her breath. Authorities said they measured Davignon’s blood-alcohol level at 0.152 percent; the legal limit for driving is 0.08 percent.
•  Served a no-trespass order on a local man on Nov. 20 who was not wanted at Two Brothers Tavern on Main Street.
•  Assisted an emotionally distraught woman at a Twin Circles residence on Nov. 20.
•  Took an emotionally distraught man to Porter Hospital to receive counseling help on Nov. 22.
•  Investigated a report of a drunken man walking in North Pleasant Street and waving at cars on Nov. 23.
•  Served a no-trespass order on a man who was allegedly sexually harassing women at the Subway Restaurant on Court Street on Nov. 23.
•  Got medical and counseling help for a woman who had taken numerous pills and had cut herself with a knife on Nov. 24.
•  Cited Carol Jane Stephenson, 59, of Bethel for driving under the influence, following an investigation in the Short Shannon Street neighborhood on Nov. 24. Police did not provide a blood-alcohol level.
•  Cited Christopher R. Morgan, 52, of Ripton for driving under the influence, following a stop for speeding on Court Street on Nov. 25. Police said they measured Morgan’s blood-alcohol level at 0.235 percent.
•  Responded to a report of someone possibly secreting contraband on a sign on School House Hill Road on Nov. 25. Police found a container affixed to the sign, which contained a “geocaching” note. Geocaching is a scavenger hunt-type game using GPS.
•  Assisted a local woman who believed she was being followed by a strange man while in the Hannaford Supermarket on Court Street on Nov. 25.
