ADDISON COUNTY — On Aug. 18 at 6:37 p.m. Vermont State Police responded to a one-car crash in New Haven.
The trooper reported that Charlotte Sandler, 52, of South Burlington was driving a Chevy Cruze southbound on Route 7 through New Haven Junction when she drove off the road and collided with a sign. The trooper cited Sandler with providing false information to a police officer and possession of a regulated substance.
The trooper also cited her passenger, identified as 27-year-old Jonathan Fisher, with providing false information to a police officer.
No injuries were reported.
In other recent activity, VSP:
•  On Aug. 12 cited a 16-year-old Addison resident with simple assault for allegedly striking a Starksboro man with an ATV in Starksboro that day.
•  On Aug. 13 at 4:05 p.m. responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 100 at State Grange Road in Rochester. Police report that Richard Andrews, 63, of Hancock stopped in a 2002 Ford truck on State Garage Road at a stop sign. A 2007 Ford Focus driven by Sara Jobes, 28, of Rochester was following a vehicle that made a right turn onto State Garage Road and Andrews’ truck reportedly started to pull out and Jobes’ Focus collided with the truck. Jobes refused treatment at the scene, and her car was towed from the scene.
•  On Aug. 13 at 6:23 p.m. responded to a one-car collision on Mountain Road in Monkton. The trooper said his investigation showed that, while driving in the rain, Diana Martin, 60, of Bristol lost control of a 2008 Chevrolet Impala while southbound on Mountain Road (which was wet), traveled off the roadway and collided with a snowmobile trailer causing damage to both her car and to the trailer. No injury was reported.
•  On Aug. 13 at 8:59 p.m. responded to a one-car collision on North Main Street in Whiting. The trooper reported that Michael A. Morse, 19, of Middlebury was driving a 2002 Chevy Cavalier northbound on Route 30/Main Street when he swerved to avoid hitting an animal in the road. Morse lost control of his vehicle, traveled off the road and rolled over once. Morse was transported to Porter Hospital to be treated for his injuries. The Chevy was a total loss.
•  On Aug 14 at 2:24 p.m. received a report that a 2010 Hyundai Elantra owned by a Salisbury woman was intentionally scratched while parked at Branbury State Park in Salisbury on Aug. 7. •  On Aug. 14 at 6:17 p.m. stopped a motor vehicle traveling northbound on Monkton Road for an unspecified infraction, and cited the driver, identified as 48-year-old Anthony Tedesco of Stillwater, N.Y.,  for driving under the influence.
•  On Aug. 14 received a tip that an intoxicated woman had left a New Haven residence and was driving. Police located Eva Plourde, 46, of Waterbury, Conn., on Route 7 in Middlebury, and cited her for driving under the influence. Police said her blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit for driving.
•  On Aug 15 at 5:35 p.m. responded to a two-car collision on Route 7 in Waltham. Police report that a Volvo S60 driven by Cody Gendreau, 18, of Salisbury collided with the rear end of a Subaru driven by Omar Fugaro, 45, of Middlebury at the intersection with South Middlebrook Road. The trooper reported that several cars quickly slowed for a turning vehicle. No one was injured.
•  On Aug. 15 at 10:05 p.m. cited Jason Sampson, 19, of Addison with driving with excessive speed and careless and negligent driving. Police report that he was allegedly driving more than 30 mph over the posted speed limit on Route 22A in Panton.
• Were alerted to the vandalism of a car parked at the Silver Lake trailhead on Lake Dunmore Road in Salisbury between 4 and 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 16. Both front windows were smashed out on the vehicle. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact VSP.
•  Were called to investigate a fire that destroyed a barn at the Nop Farm on Route 7 in Salisbury on Aug. 16. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation but the fire is not considered to be suspicious. See story in A section.
•  On Aug. 17 at approximately 1:40 a.m. responded to a one-vehicle roll-over accident on Lake Dunmore Road in Salisbury. The trooper said her investigation suggests that the driver of a black Subaru Forrester, identified as 27-year-old Daniel Raymond of East Middlebury, was traveling in excess of the posted speed limit when he failed to navigate a sharp corner, driving off the roadway and into a rock fence. His vehicle then struck a large tree and overturned. Raymond was transported to Porter Hospital and was released without injury. Police cited Raymond for DUI, second offense, and negligent driving.
•  On Aug. 17 at 3:10 p.m. received a report that two wallets and an iPhone were stolen from a motor vehicle parked on the Lincoln Gap Road in Lincoln. The victim reported the theft occurred while she was away from her vehicle between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact VSP.
• On Aug. 17 at 10:13 p.m. looked into a report of a person passed out in his vehicle in the construction zone on Route 100 in Granville. Police ended up citing Richard M. Scott, 51, of Fayston for refusing to take a driving under the influence test. He was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Center on $250 bail.
•  On Aug. 17 at 10:39 p.m. responded to a single-vehicle collision on Sand Road in Ferrisburgh. Police said Brian Larrow, 25, of Ferrisburgh was driving a 1995 Dodge eastbound on Sand Road and fell asleep behind the wheel. Larrow’s vehicle subsequently traveled off the roadway and collided with a culvert and rolled over. Larrow left the scene but was later located. Police cited him for leaving the scene of an accident and careless and negligent driving. The vehicle was totaled.
