Bristol Police Log: Officers busy on roads, at school

BRISTOL — Bristol police on April 18 arrested Dorothy Stauss Hutchinson, 53, on suspicion of driving under the influence. Police reported that on that Friday at around 10:30 p.m. they stopped Hutchinson, of Sudbury, Mass., on Route 116 for speeding, drifting into the oncoming lane and failing to signal.
A police press release said that Hutchinson admitted to consuming wine; tests later determined her to have a blood alcohol level of 0.082 percent, slightly higher than the legal limit of 0.08.
In other recent activity, Bristol police on April 25 cited a 13-year-old male student at Mount Abraham Union High School after investigating a fight that took place at around 8:35 a.m. on March 18. According to police, video evidence showed that the altercation was pre-planned and intentional. Because the accused is a minor and the case will be handled in juvenile court, police declined to identify the student.
Bristol Police Chief Kevin Gibbs also reports that his department on April 27 arrested Bristol resident Jonah S. Kleinfeldt, 39, on an outstanding warrant issued by the Department of Corrections for violation of probation. Police said they stopped a minivan registered in Kleinfeldt’s name at around 3:35 p.m. that day and during the course of the stop discovered Kleinfeldt hiding in the back of the vehicle in an attempt to escape notice. Police took Kleinfeldt into custody without incident and lodged him at the Chittenden County Correctional Center.
