Eagle nine tipped; OV, MUHS wait til Weds.

ADDISON COUNTY — Only Mount Abraham saw local high school postseason baseball action on Tuesday, when stormy weather postponed Middlebury’s and Otter Valley’s games.
EAGLES
The Eagles, seeded No. 11 in Division II, dropped a heartbreaker at No. 6 Lake Region, 4-3. Mount Abe used a homer and single from Austin Lafayette andEthan Gendreau’s RBI double to take a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Rangers rallied for a pair of runs and the victory. Sawyer Kamman went the distance on the mound for Mount Abe and struck out six, but took the pitching loss.
The Eagles finished at 4-12, while Lake Region improved to 11-5.
OTTERS
Defending D-II champion OV entered the tournament with a 9-7 mark and the No. 7 seed and was set to host No. 10 Enosburg (6-9) on Tuesday before the storms struck. If the Otters prevailed on Wednesday, they will almost certainly travel to meet No. 2 Mill River on Friday. The 13-3 Minutemen own 11-6 and 8-1 victories over OV this spring and were hosting 1-15 Fair Haven on Wednesday.
TIGERS
The 7-8 Tigers earned the No. 11 seed in Division I after finishing the regular season with a three-game Metro Conference skid. They were set to face No. 6 Rutland (10-5) on Wednesday after Tuesday’s postponement; the teams did not meet this spring.
A win on Wednesday would mean a 1 p.m. Saturday date on the road at No. 3 Rice (11-4) or at home vs. No. 14 Mt. Anthony (6-10). The Patriots held an early 2-0 lead in a suspended Tuesday game. The Tigers knocked off Rice, 12-4, early this season, but did not face the Patriots.
