Bristol police officer’s home the target of vandalism
BRISTOL — Christmas decorations outside the home of a Bristol police officer were vandalized last week, Vermont State Police said.
In a statement, troopers said that between Wednesday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 7, someone used a cutting tool to sever Christmas light strands attached to the Bristol home of George Randy Crowe, a sergeant with the Bristol Police Department.
State Police Trooper Busby said it was too early in his investigation to know Crowe’s role as a law enforcement officer was a motive for the crime, or whether the vandalism was a random act. Both Crowe and Bristol Police Department Chief Kevin Gibbs did not respond to requests for comment.
State police urge anyone with information about the crime to call the New Haven barracks at 388-4919 or submit anonymous tips online at www.vtips.info.
