Three local boys’ lacrosse teams fall to opponents
ADDISON COUNTY — Local boys’ lacrosse teams found the going tough in the latter half of last week, as Mount Abraham, Otter Valley and Vergennes all dropped contests.
Middlebury also hosted Colchester; see story.
EAGLES
On Wednesday, visiting Rice scored 13 first-half goals on the way to a 15-8 win over the Eagles. Gus Catlin andLucas Richter scored three goals apiece for the Eagles, and goalieTucker Paradee recorded 10 saves.
On Saturday, host Harwood outscored the Eagles by 7-2 in the second half to rally for an 11-8 win. Richter (five goals) and Catlin (three) took care of the offense for the 2-4 Eagles, who will host U-32 on Monday.
OTTERS
On Friday, visiting Division I Rutland topped the Commodores, 19-5, despite a combined 24 saves from Carson Leary (18 in the first half) and Jonathan McKeighan (six in the second).William Ross,Colton Leno,Eric Sherman,Keenan Pratt andCollin Eugair scored the goals for OV (1-9), which visits VUHS on Monday.
COMMODORES
On Saturday, host Burlington improved to 8-1 with a 19-5 win over the Commodores. Tyler Crowningshield (three goals) and Tyler Kepes (two goals) took care of the offense for VUHS, which fell to 5-4 heading into a Monday home game vs. OV.
