Ralph Myhre golf course to be busy for a while

MIDDLEBURY — The Ralph Myhre Golf Course will host three events in the next two weeks. On Friday, Aug. 7, the Middlebury course will host the Vermont PGA Junior Tour Championship, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, brings the  Club Challenge vs. Neshobe with an 8:30 a.m. back-nine shotgun start.
On Saturday, Aug. 22, Ralph Myhre will host the 34th annual Middlebury Women’s Invitational, with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Sign-ups for that event are going on now through Aug 14.
In this past week’s Friday Evening Mixed Scramble, the threesome of Bill Laberge, Diane Neuse and Dave Wemette came in first, followed by the quartet of Father Skip Baltz, Maryann Broughton, Liz Andrews and Gail Smith.
The trio of Bernie Andrews, Joan Guertin and Cilla Leng finished third, while Wes Smith and Nicole Laberge were the Closest to The Pin winners.
In last week’s Bill Davidson Thursday Afternoon Golf, the threesome of Jim Dayton, Ed Sommers and Bernie Andrews prevailed. Taking second in the best-ball competition was the trio of Joe Bartlett, Joe Thilbourg and Jim Hedeka.
Sommers earned low-net honors, and the Closest To The Pin winners were Neil Mackey and Bartlett.
