MUHS girls’ lax thumps South Burlington
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ lacrosse team thumped visiting South Burlington on Tuesday, 16-4, in the Tigers’ final regular-season home game.
MUHS moved to 11-2 with games left at Rutland (6-8) on Thursday and at first-place Mount Mansfield (13-2) on Friday. They are in a fight for top Division I seeds and could finish as high as first or as low as fifth depending on their and other teams’ results.
The Vermont Principals’ Association will announce playoff pairings on Monday.
Vs. the Rebels, eight Tigers found the net, led by Isabel Rosenberg’s four goals and Andi Boe’s three goals and three assists. Satchel McLaughlin tossed in three goals, and Emma Best added two goals and an assist.
Tiger goalie Raven Payne stopped seven shots, and two Rebel goalies combined for nine saves.
