Learn about the night sky in Salisbury on Wednesday

SALISBURY — Interesting in reading the night sky?
The public invited to join others in this endeavor this Wednesday night, Aug. 10, from 9-10:30 p.m. at the Turner Residence at 662 Leland Road, West Salisbury.
Crispin Butler will give a short talk about the night sky. Then everyone will watch for meteors; find stars, constellations, and planets; contemplate the moon; and ponder the universe.
You may wish to bring a telescope or binoculars, although they are not required. Also, perhaps it would be wise to bring a smart phone or a star chart, a dim flashlight, a blanket or a jacket, or a beach chair.
If the sky is not clear on the eve of the event, call 352-4442 for status. The rain date is Aug. 11.
This stargazing event is free and open to the public, and brought to you by the Salisbury Conservation Commission and The Lake Dunmore Fern Lake Association.
