Youth tennis jamboree set for this Saturday

MIDDLEBURY — The Addison Community Athletics Foundation (ACAF) will hold its first Youth Tennis Jamboree this Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until noon at Middlebury Indoor Tennis on Boardman Street in Middlebury.
According to organizers, the event, open to ages 5 to 15, will provide youth the opportunity to play tennis through engaging games and activities. Players will also be able to rally against others from our area.
During the last hour,  the jamboree will wrap up with family time on the court and lunch. Raffle prizes and giveaways will be available and will include memberships to MIT, passes for free lessons and clinics, and equipment and gift certificates from local businesses.
The cost to participate will be $15 and is due at the event. Organizers are requiring pre-registration at www.vermontcf.org.acaf, and more information is available from Erin Morrison at [email protected].
According to a press release, over the past year ACAF has worked with more than 350 county kids and families and eight schools and organizations, several of which have received equipment grants through the U.S. Tennis Association. During the next month, ACAF plans to introduce new programs and events for youth and families with the goal of seeing tennis continue to grow in the community.
