Friday Arts Walk to open festivities

VERGENNES — It’s the eve of Vergennes Day and what are you going to do?
Discover artwork at venues all along Main Street in Vergennes this Friday, Aug. 26, in the monthly Vergennes Arts Walk. See paintings by Georgina Forbes and John Burns, prints by Lyna Lou Nordstrom, and more.
This after-hours open house at art galleries and local businesses invites you to explore this walkable historic downtown. Browse shops, antiques and artwork. There will be light refreshments and wine tasting from Vergennes Wine at Creative Space Gallery, 5-8 p.m.
Creative Space Gallery & Sean Dye Studio at 214 Main St. is co-op gallery showing the work of 50 Vermont artists. Enjoy newly arrived artwork including ceramics by Judith Bryant and Kileh Friedman, broadsides by John Vincent and handmade books by Jane Ploughman, mixed media pieces by Marilyn Gillis, turned and carved wooden pieces by Dennis Grage, glass by Bud Shriner, pastels by Celia Oliver and Bonnie Melnick, and much more. Light refreshments, and complimentary wine tasting, courtesy of Vergennes Wine.
